The two sorts of cartridges were launched. One is three Covid-19 wells and IPC. The other is Covid-19, FluA, FluB and IPC. Additionally, the cartridge menu will be expanded in near future.

Each kit comes with USB, cables (2 - type A and type C), PC cables. For details please refer to the specification.

To perform operations with measurement we need a computer or smartphone.

Battery drive is available. Please be careful while using battery. Battery capacity below 30% may cause errors and become unable to perform operation.

Swabs, suspension buffer for specimen collection and nozzle for specimen injection come with cartridge. No need to prepare any consumables. To prevent the spread of infection please use disinfecting sheet.

SmartAmp™ is one of the PCR technologies which can be operated in isothermal condition. This was developed by RIKEN (The inventor is Y. Hayashizaki who was the center director of Omics Science Center), which is one of the most prestigious research institutes in the world belonging to Ministry of Education and Culture of Japanese government.

GenPad is a fully-automated system where RNA purification and detection of target nucleic acid are performed in a single cartridge in one step. Any manual steps for purification of nucleic acid and preparation of reaction mix are required. The sensitivity is 1000 copies of RNA in one cartridge (250 copies in one reaction chamber) in the case of 3 Covid and IPC.

Keep in a dark and cold place at temperature below 25 degrees in unopened aluminum package.

GenPad cartridge and device are CE-mark approved.

About environment of specimen collection please follow the information provided by National Institute of Infection Diseases (NIID). It is recommended to wrap the used swab in disinfecting sheet or dispose it.

The GenPad cartridge is the closed system to prevent the contamination of amplicon. The liquid reaction mix inside of the cartridge after reaction, contains a high concentration of nucleic acid amplification products. If this amplification product leaks out it may cause contamination and false positive test results. Please dispose cartridge without opening its cap.

Please prepare a plug adaptor. The standard may be different depending on the country. Please contact the specialized organization to confirm the standard that is acceptable. For example, CE mark and PSE mark etc.

Before we have packed in carry-on baggage on international flight. Please check restrictions of airline baggage you intended to use.

SSB is Not drinkable and it is corrosive reagent to the human skin. If the SSB contacts with your skin, please wash your hand with water immediately. Especially, in the case that the SSB contacts with your eyes, immediately please wash your eyes with large amount of water, and please seek medical attention immediately. Please blot with a soft cloth.

Please blot with a soft cloth quickly and then wipe with a wet cloth. The reagent is corrosive to metals. Be sure to store it away from metals.

Saliva swabs, nasopharyngeal swabs, nasal swabs and pharyngeal swabs are available for Covid-19.

Usually, swabs should be soaked into SSB in the soft tube. Suspension of swabs into UTM or VTM is not recommended, however if needed, 100μL of UTM or VTM can be mixed with 1500μL of SSB and 500μL of the mixed sample should be injected into cartridge.

After taking samples, when the GenPad test should be completed ?

Generally, because nucleic acid amplification test (NAATs) has higher sensitivity, than immunochromatography (antigen) test, it is interpreted that the sample is positive.
