Instruction for Use
The test involves a single-step pre-treatment process to lyse the cell wall capsule of Gram positive bacteria in the specimens. Following pre-treatment, the GenPad Smart GBS test employs fully automated processes, including RNA extraction and isothermal nucleic acid amplification using RT-SmartAmp. Amplification is detected by the analyzer through fluorogenic oligonucleotides targeting the GBS secA gene in the reaction mixture.
